Potential Board Member Qualifications

 All candidates for a seat on the Board of Directors for the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce should meet the following qualifications:

  • Is an active and current business or community leader in Boyle Heights

  • Has sufficient time to dedicate to fulfilling the responsibilities of being a chamber board member (approx. 3-5 hours a month, could be more if actively involved in an event or project committee).

  • Willingness to share resources and talents with the organization, including time, expertise, contacts where needed

  • Is in alignment with the Mission and Vision of the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce:

Mission: The mission of the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce is to be a bridge between business and community. We serve the local business community, which also includes non-profit organizations, public affairs groups and engaged community members, by providing opportunities for resource sharing, education, networking and advocacy. We are a resource for local business by providing access to the tools needed to navigate all stages of business development.

Vision: We believe that commerce opportunities in Boyle Heights grow when we work together to ensure that all members of our community are thriving. We value partnerships that convene stakeholders in our community who want to work together to achieve common goals that support the community as a whole. This includes being a strong advocate for responsible growth and development in Boyle Heights.

  • Wants to participate in a collaborative team environment – we are looking for folks who are passionate about the community, are willing to get involved, want to have fun and enjoy working alongside other dedicated and passionate leaders!
